IN THE RAPIDS
It's absolutely gorgeous weather in New York City today, and I'm riding high on a super-fun readthrough with Isaac Butler's Rapid Response Team, with is playing Tuesday night at Galapagos and is looking to be a really good time. It's a nice eclectic mix of styles, although most of the pieces are funny. Thank God, 'cause my piece is really not funny.
Sean, Jordy and I submitted another musical to the Fringe Festival, a rock musical called Air Guitar. Which means I'm now waiting to hear about two festivals, which will define how I'll spend most of the rest of my time this year.
Meanwhile, I had a lovely time reading James Comtois's new play The Adventures of Nervous Boy: A Penny Dreadful over at his place in Brooklyn. I gotta tell you, those Nosedive guys are old-school. We did the reading, somebody yelled out the run time, and then everybody lit up cigarettes and the playwright's sister ran out for tallboys. A lot of times the theater crowd and the yoga-edamame crowd seem to overlap, but not at Nosedive. Good times.
